Valley Falls is located in the rolling hills of northern Jefferson, [JF], county near the Delaware river. Highways K-4 and K-16 provide easy access from Kansas City and Topeka. Nearby Perry Lake offers fishing, boating, swimming, camping, and hunting. A public boat ramp in the northeast part of town offers access to the river and the lake.
Valley Falls is heavily wooded and prides itself on its trees; there's even a tree park where new species are being planted and labeled. Downtown, Frank's Pharmacy (1872) and Stewart's Old Store (1890) give a glimpse of 19th-century retailing. The Valley Falls Historical Society Museum is located in a native stone building. Its Historic Print Shop at 310 Broadway is open year round; (785) 945-6698
Valley Falls celebrates its Grasshopper Falls Days in April and hosts the Jefferson County 4-H Fair in August.
