Satanta Elementary School
Leanne Tschanz, Principal
The Satanta Elementary School provides educational opportunities for students in grades kindergarten through sixth. We offer a wide variety of learning experiences for our students. One of the unique things about our school is that we offer a full day of kindergarten, instead of the traditional half day, to help achieve student success. We offer a full range of learning opportunities such as vocal music, band, library skills, reading recovery, ESL (English as a second language), keyboarding, and physical education, as well as the traditional school subjects. Special needs students receive services from experienced special needs instructors as well as speech and gifted services. Classes for early childhood education are offered for those pre-school age students with special needs. We have a school nurse to assist with health education and with students who have individual health issues. Our counselor works with students to help them develop positive decision-making skills. The Haskell County Sheriff's office assigns a DARE officer to the school to instruct students in drug and alcohol awareness education. The Satanta Elementary School is proud to offer such a diverse curriculum from a hard working, dedicated staff of professionals to the families of Satanta.
