Murdock is in eastern Kingman County about four miles south of US-54. Its post office is a neat adobe structure that looks like is was taken from New Mexico.

Murdock is on the old A. T. & S. F. line that once ran from Wichita down to Engelwood in Clark County. It's now operated by the Kansas & Oklahoma and runs as far as Protection in Comanche County.
