The Marshall County Veterans Memorial is an octagon-shaped wall with the names and service information of Marshall County veterans lining the inside of the wall.  There is a smaller octagon-shaped wall in the middle honoring those Marshall County veterans killed or missing in action.

The project was funded by veterans who purchased plaques to go on the Memorial wall and donations from various businsses and veteran service organizations.  Today there are over 2,100 names on the wall and it continues to grow daily.  The Memorial is a lasting tribute to those Marshall County veterans who answered their country's call when needed and served honorably, with some giving the ultimate sacrafice.

IN THE BEGINNING
The Memorial project was envisioned by two local veterans and proposed to the Marshall County Council of the American Legion in the summer of 2005.  The Marshall County Council of the American Legion agreed to sponsor the Memorial and formed the Marshall County Veterans Memorial Committee to oversee the poject.  This committee was comprised of members from all seven Marshall County American Legion Posts.

In the fall of 2006 the Kansas National Guard deeded the land in front of the National Guard Armory to the City of Marysville for the sole purpose of constructing a Veterans Memorial.  Construction on the Memorial began in the spring of 2007.  

The Marshall County Veterans Memorial is located by the American Legion and the National Guard Armory in Marysville, 1 block North of Sonic Drive-In.
