Luray Events

*Friendship Day (link to 2006 Parade Beginning)

Luray's biggest annual event has free BBQ, an Art Show, a parade, a horseshoe tournament, homemade ice cream, & a golf tournament. This year it will be held on September 2, 2012.

*Annual All School Banquet

The banquet, which includes all alumni from Lucas-Luray High School, is held the Saturday night prior to "observed" Memorial Day Monday. It's held at the Luray American Legion Hall, with a banquet, a dance and class reunions. For more information contact Julie Letsch. This year it will be held on May 26, 2012.

*Fish Fry

The first annual Luray Methodist Men's Fish Fry was held in 1938, and was in the basement of what is now the American Legion Building. The event grew from that meager beginning to outgrow the basement, and for many years served over 1000 visitors the third Friday evening of each March. Crowds in recent years number around 800 to partake of the wonderful fried fish, homemade cherry pies, and all trimmings, now served in the main floor of Legion Hall while the men fill the basement cooking. Men of every faith become Methodist for the night to help with this annual event.

*Golf Tournaments

Golf tournaments all summer long, about every other weekend.
