Fish Fry
- The first annual Luray Methodist Men's Fish Fry was held
in 1938, and was in the basement of what is now the American
Legion Building. The event grew from that meager beginning to
outgrow the basement, and for many years served over 1000 visitors
the third Friday evening of each March. Crowds in recent years
number around 800 to partake of the wonderful fried fish, homemade
cherry pies, and all trimmings, now served in the main floor
of Legion Hall while the men fill the basement cooking. Men of
every faith become Methodist for the night to help with this
annual event.
-
- Golf tournaments all summer long,
about every other weekend.
