Lincoln, the county seat of Lincoln [LC] county, is situated on rolling hills overlooking the Saline River.  The post rock buildings in downtown Lincoln are beautiful.  The county courthouse was built in 1900 out of local limestone.

Post rock building in the park in Lincoln, Kansas In addition to the swimming pool, ballfields, and playgrounds, the city park has some fine old stone facilities.  The workmanship and civic pride embodied in them make the park well worth a visit.  While you are here, see the gigantic cottonwood trees.

Highways K-14 and K-18 meet on the north side of town.  One of the major local industries is quarrying quartzite.

Lincoln celebrates Lincoln's Birthday in a big way on President's Day weekend in February.
