Hope is located in southern Dickinson County on highway K-4. The
downtown area has some neat buildings and a small park. On
the north edge of town there's a really pretty old park.
Hope was once at the junction of the AT&SF and Missouri Pacific railroads, and is still served by the Santa Fe.
Hope is famous for it's Ladies Lounge; since 1952 it's been a
quiet spot for visiting ladies to retire to while their husbands
did business. Once common, facilites like this are rare today,
but the one in Hope is still used for meetings.
The offices of the Rural Vista School District,
USD 481, are located in White City and
the community is proud of their Lions.
For those who love the outdoors, Hope is just minutes from two lakes and the Smoky Hill river. Milford, Tuttle Creek, and El Dorado lakes are all less than an hour away. |
