Where is Hardtner
by: Lew Van Der Wege

Hardtner Is a place where people stop who don't have more than the sack they carry over their back--they always find a hot meal and a warm bed in which to sleep. Hardtner Is a place where neighbors bring you your mail, shop for your groceries, and take you to the doctor for a check-up If you're not able to do it yourself. Hardtner is a place where people bring you food to eat when you are grieving--they don't usually know what to say, but they will bring a dish of food, cry with you, laugh with you, and embrace you with a love that truly shares your pain. Hardtner Is a place where people shop because of "bargains" bigger than money. Hardtner is a place where people pay $60 for an apple pie and claim it's worth every penny. Hardtner is a place where you can have a flat tire five miles from town, and someone will call home to tell your family while someone else helps you change the tire. Hardtner is a place where people volunteer their time to work at the grocery store on the corner and publish a newspaper. Hardtner Is a place where boxes; of cups, bowls, spoons, and blankets are gathered to send to far away lands for people who no longer have a community. Hardtner Is a place where people gather to celebrate freedom and to honor those who have died to preserve it. Hardtner Is a place where eyes become teary when someone sings "The Star Spangled Banner". Hardtner Is a place where people care about one another. Hardtner is a place where people celebrate, laugh, cry, work, live, die, rejoice, suffer, pray, raise children, volunteer, worship, and..they do it together.
