The Hardtner Friends of Library was founded in February of 1999 with 58 members and 3 Lifetime members and 2 Honorary members.
The History Committee is preserving the History of the Hardtner School in the Tornado room. They are also preserving community photos events and newspapers. History Committee members are Sheryl Ingram, Della Trotter, and Juanita Smith.

The Finance committee has completed 5 fund raisers, the sale of alumni books, with the history of the school and names of all graduates, during the 4th of July Celebration they sold fireworks glasses, they have had 2 auctions and 2 afghan raffles. They have received 6 matching grants from the KanOkla Telephone Association.
2000 - Members have raised enough money to remodel the library restroom and add 2 new book shelves.
2001 - Funds were raised to add a DSL line, to upgrade the computers, buy a fire proof file cabinet to store old photos and memorabilia, put in a wheel chair ramp, add children's furniture, and add another book shelf.
2002 - Funds were raised to remodel the children's room, a heater, air conditioner, storm windows, carpet, cordless phone and book cart were part of this remodeling project. A memorial book shelf was given in honor of Maureen Allen, by her former students
2003 - Funds were raised for Summer Reading. A de-humidifier was purchased with matching funds. The Library was painted with donations of paint from Grant Construction Company. Tom Wells Painting provided the Labor. A Karaoke machine and DVD player were donated by Lifetime Friends member Suzanne Mitchell.
