Feb. 14, 1945 comments of county superintendent, Belle Chambers; records neat and attendance good. A very busy group of children. Special Projects for the school year; cooking: Children helped prepare food for hot lunch program. Sewing: Each child made a sachet for their mothers at Christmas. Woodwork: Children helped make some scenery. Parent-Teacher Associations: Sunnyside Community Club was organized and had 6 programs during the year.
Comments by teacher Ruth Marie Lyon on April 27, 1945: The children collected seeds of various types and learned how nature sows seeds and how we sow them. The children have a pet turtle and have studied its habits. A weather chart was made for one month. The boys and girls formed a Jr. Red Cross unit making decorations for Soldier's over seas units for Christmas and filling 2 educational boxes for war orphans overseas. A picnic was enjoyed by pupils and teachers April 13.

Remarks - Children gathered some science specimans and especially noted flowers, trees and other vegetation. Birds and their habits as well as insects were a topic of great interest.
