    Once a year the town of Elk City has a fair where young and old alike show their talents in growing flowers, vegetables, crafts, needlework, quilts, paintings, canning, grains etc. Clubs and churches get together and build floats and booths, all leading up to the Old Settlers Day festivities. There is a Prince and Princess coronation for 5 year olds and a Senior Girls Queen of the fair. Parade, Kids' Races, Volleyball Tournament, Medallion Hunt, Basketball Tournament, Horseshoe Pitching, Bingo, Wayne Johnson Memorial Car Show, Pie Auctions, Talent Shows, a Free Bean Feed, Parade and all kinds of activities for young and old.
    It's a lot of fun and all are welcome.

    FRIDAY SEPTEMBER 7th, 2012

    9:00 a.m. Booths and Exhibits:
    All entries in by Noon Friday. Place Community Building. 12:00 p.m. Judging of booths and exhibits.

    5:30 p.m. Concession stand at the ballfield.

    5:00 - 9:00 p.m. Annual Wayne Johnson Memorial Car Show, at the ball field, judging at 9 p.m.

    Other evening events Friday the 9th at the ballfield are:

    Queen Crowning
    Pie Auction
    Door Prizes
    Cake Walk
    Game Booths
    Farm Bureau Kids Tractor Pull
    Karaoke at 9 p.m.

    September 7th at the Ballfield on Franklin Street.
    Registration fee is $10.00 (must be 16 yrs and older to participate)
    Registration from 3 pm to 6:00 pm

    Top 3 Special Inerest Class (Motorcycles, Doonbuggies, Lawn Mowers, Four Wheelers etc.)

    Power of the Past Display all day Friday and Saturday at the ball field

    7:00-9:00 a.m. Breakfast served at the First Christian Church - Biscuits and Gravy$2.00
    10:00 a.m. Parade - entries welcome
    11:30a.m. Kids Races at the Ball Field;

    • Pre-Kindergarten & Kindergarten Tri-cycle Race - bring your own trike
    • Stick horse or broom race bring your own horse
    RACES FOR ALL AGES:
    •Sack Races
    •Foot Races
    • 3 legged Race
    •Land Ski Race
    •Turtle Races - Kids bring your own turtles NO WATER TURTLES.
    •Find Money in Straw pile.
    •Game Booths

    12:00 Noon LUNCH SERVED - Fair Concession Stand at Ballfield
