Denmark was one of Lincoln, [LC], county's first permanent settlements. It was settled about 1869 by Danish Lutherans who laid the cornerstone for a stone church in 1876. Built of the "post rock" limestone that is so abundant in the county, it was completed in 1880. The bell tower and entry were added in 1901.
 
The town is located 3 miles north of highway K-18 and still has a railroad and grain elevator.

Special Events	Hunter's Luncheon & Bazaar Held on the first day of pheasant season from 10am-2pm. There's also a bake sale and craft tables.
Places to Visit	The Wade House is a quaint old Danish home.   There's also a pretty old post rock school.
