Welcome to the homepage for the city of Delphos, a small farming community in north-central Kansas. Our town has a storied history with many interesting people and locations. We invite you visit us here and enjoy the present while reliving a little bit of the past.
Grace Bedell, the precocious little girl who urged President Lincoln to grow his now trademark beard, grew up and married George Billings, a Civil War veteran, and moved here to Delphos after the Civil War. The house she and her husband lived in is a historical treasure and deserves to be preserved as a national landmark for future generations to enjoy. The Grace Bedell Foundation is committed to the purchase and preservation of the house in which Grace lived for the express purpose of creating a Grace Bedell museum. We're working with the Grace Bedell Foundation to make that happen!
Don't miss this year's Del-Fest! Held the second weekend in August, Del-Fest includes a parade, a small carnival, games for kids, crafts, and other activities.
