VOLUNTEER FIRE DEPARTMENT

"The Only Blue Rapids in the World"

Our department’s primary responsibility is to provide fire protection to residents of the Marshall County Rural Fire District #7 and the City of Blue Rapids. We are active each year as a mutual aid provider to all other Marshall County fire departments and to rural departments in northeast Riley County. In times of emergency our equipment and manpower can be directed, as available, to any other fire department in Marshall County. We give mutual aid assistance primarily to:

Marshall Co. RFD #2 City of Marysville
Marshall Co. RFD #6 City of Waterville
Marshall Co. RFD #9 City of Frankfort

As a host training sight, our department (with the assistance of the Kansas State Firefighters Association , the Kansas State Forestry Department and Homeland Security Civil Support Team) has made local training available to all area fire departments. This training was offered at no cost to the departments.
