Our Old House was built in the early 1870's by one of the town's founders, George Parker, who opened the first business house in Bennington and was the first Postmaster.
Later it was the residence of H. Reinhardt who ran a family trading store on the corner west of his home.

Over the, years the house has been used as a residence, boarding house, dentist office and most recently the Pepper Pot Restaurant.

Dave & Dee Popelka bought the house in, January I998, continued  the restoration and remodeling started by the prior owners, and named the house "Our Old House"- a very appropriate name as it is one of the oldest houses in Bennington and also a second home to the Popelka family.
In December the Old House was put up for sale
