Beloit, KS
Vision with Values

The Beloit Ministerial Association has been an active part of the Beloit community for years. The Association is made up of pastors in the community and area that join together for the spiritual enrichment of our community.

Twice a year, on Good Friday and again during Advent, the Association hosts a worship service that allows Christians from the area to come together for a joint celebration. It is a blessing to see hundreds coming together for the purpose of worshipping the Lord and enjoying a time of fellowship. These joint services provide a vivid demonstration of the unity of the Church in this community.

The Association also offers worship services at two of the care facilities in Beloit on a weekly basis. This allows the residents of the Hilltop Lodge and the Long Term Care Unit of the Mitchell County Hospital to continue to worship God when they are no longer able to attend services at their own church. In a similar vein, members of the Association serve as volunteer Chaplains at the Mitchell County Hospital. This rotational system means that a local pastor is always "on call" for emergencies and available to assist in the spiritual care of hospital patients. Association members also provide daily inspirational thoughts aired on KVSV, one of the local radio stations.

Other on-going ministries of the Association are the Mitchell County Food Pantry and the Utility Assistance Program. Any Mitchell County resident can contact one of the Beloit pastors for food assistance through the Food Pantry. This is designed to help families in a crisis situation meet their nutritional needs. If the same family requests food assistance more than twice in a calendar year, free financial counseling is given through one of the local banks. Any Mitchell County resident can also apply for utility assistance through the Association. Since funds are limited, grants of up to $75 can be given, and are limited to twice a year. The Association also works with other funding sources, such as the Salvation Army and Red Cross, to address unusual needs that may arise from time to time.

An annual "Angel Tree" is sponsored in cooperation with another one of the local banks each Advent season. Families needing a little extra help in providing gifts for their children can sign up for this program. Anonymous "angels" are hung on a Christmas tree with gift suggestions and people are encouraged to pick one up as part of their regular Christmas shopping. Association members distribute the presents, along with a generous supply of foodstuffs, the Monday before Christmas. This has proven to be quite a blessing to families in the County.

The Beloit Ministerial Association has also sponsored classes and programs designed to enhance parenting and communication skills, marriage and family enrichment, and alcohol and drug awareness, and various youth activities. These are all done to bless the community with the resources that an active faith in Jesus Christ can bring.

The Beloit Ministerial Association is proud to serve our Lord and this community. We plan to play a vital role of the development of this community for as long as God gives us breath!
