The Kansas Senate currently has 27 Republicans (occupying the seats on the left side of the chamber photo) and 13 Democrats. Each of the 40 State Senators represents approximately 60,000 people in his/her respective district and is elected to a 4 year term.
Profiles of each Republican Senator are available, complete with photographs, email and mailing addresses, district information, committee assignments, and biographies. Also, find out how to contact your Kansas state and federal leadership.
The Chamber is located in the East Wing of the capitol building, the first section of the Statehouse to be constructed. The Chamber is open to visitors when the Legislature is not is session from 8:00 am to 4:00 pm, Monday through Friday. Guided tours of the capitol are available.
