I followed in Nita Gormley Huelsman's footsteps and attended PTI in Omaha, Neb., worked @ Western Union, NYC, resided in Jackson Heights, Queens. Married, divorced, have 2 grown sons, Rudy and Chris, retired from Jersey Central Power & Light Co., 1 December 2004, just an ordinary life, but it has been a great time.
I attended Fort Hays State University where I met my husband Dave Van
Doren. We graduated in 1970. After a brief stay in Grants, New Mexico, we returned
to Hays and have lived there since. We have three children, James, Heidi, and Mark.
All are grown, two living in Kansas City and one Tucson, AZ. I worked in sales and
marketing for my husband's business for over twenty years. I went to work for the
FHSU Endowment Association in 1999, where I am the Director of Annual Giving. (For
you Fort Hays grads, I am the lady who calls each fall to ask for money.) Dave and I
enjoy the freedom an empty nest brings but find ourselves helping our kids with
lots of projects. We enjoy traveling and have been fortunate to visit many places
in U.S. and beyond. We look forward to 'working retirement'; you know the kind that
lets you work as much and when you want. Does it exist? I treasure growing up in
Grinnell, Kansas. It provided the solid foundation I built my life on!
Presently I live in Hays with my dog Fritz and stay busy doing volunteer work, attending college events and enjoying my family. My son lives and works in Hays and my daughter and her family live in rural Rooks county.
Rick (class of '68) and I married in September, 1967, and raised 2 sons (Steve and Chris) in Colby. In 1994 we moved to Hays where I am an accountant for the KSU Western KS Ag Research Centers and Rick is the detail manager at Clay Chevrolet. We enjoy working in our yard, camping & fishing, and our 3 grandchildren.
Attended Fort Hays, Graduated in 1972. Married classmate Patsy Swart in 1971. Lived in Denver for 19 years, now live in Colby.
Soon after high school I joined the Air Force and served four years. Those were the Vietnam days. I met Peggy Wilson (1970)soon after and we were married in 1973. We have two daughters, Jennifer and Sarah. Peggy is a CPA, Jennifer a physical therapist, and Sarah is a Social Worker. I have a degree in Theology and served as a Pastor for a small church in Madison, WI for about four years. Peg & I now live in Santa Fe, New Mexico where I sell real estate and play golf, ski, backpack, snowshoe & ride my motorcycle. Life is good!!
The year was 1970 when I was told that the school had put up
with me the last 4 years and it was time to move on. Ok! So went to NW Area Vo-Tech Goodland. Graduated in 1972 in diesel mechanics. Went to work in Salina, where I met my wife Marjorie. We moved back to the farm at Grinnell for several years, working at various jobs. Then moved to Greenwood, Mo. in 1986. We have 3 daughters: Jennifer, born 1976; Jamie, born 1978; and Janise, born 1981. My new hobby is playing with trains!!!
After graduating from GHS, I attended Fort Hays State University, where I met my wife, Angela. I left Hays to attend KU school of law. After law school graduation, I returned to Hays, where I practiced law for 17 years. In 1992 I was elected District Judge, and have served in that capacity since.
Angela and I have three children: Travis, age 21; Sarah, age 18; and Courtney, age 16. Our oldest two are in college, and we will have an "empty nest" in two years when Courtney graduates high school. We feel fortunate to have been able to remain in this area to raise our children.
After graduating from GHS, I attended Fort Hays State and
graduated in 1974 with an AB degree in German (remember Herr Staab?) and a minor in Library Science. I taught at McDonald and then Cheylin (Bird City and McDonald unified). After Jamie, now 21, was born, I stayed home and did substitute teaching. We added to our family as well: Amanda, 14, freshman; David, 12, 7th grade; and Debi, 9, 4th grade. I've been an ESL paraprofessional the last two years at Colby, but now am out of a job because all my students I worked with returned to Mexico with their families. I did earn my ESL endorsement the last two years by attending night classes at Hays. Now I am looking again. Will substitute again if I have to. I married George Banister in 1976. Because of medical problems he
got out of farming, so he's looking, too.
After graduation I married Don Teeter (class of 1965). We have been blessed with 4 children and 4 grandchildren. have survived. We have three children: Scott, Shawn & Christy.

Well, after high school I went to NWKAVTS in Goodland and graduated from farm and diesel mechanics. From 1977 to 1980 I worked for a few business places in Goodland; the last one being Ernie Scmidt Ford. In 1980 I moved to Garden City, Ks and started my career of hauling John Deere farm equipment all over this great country of ours. I also learned a lot about how to work on the same equipment. It was this year also that I met a special lady, Anita, and we hit it off. In 1985 we got married and started our wonderful life together. In 1988 we were blessed with the arrivial of our son Andy. He has been a very big part of our lives. When he turned 4, I desided to move back home to Grinnell where I thought he would have a better chance at a good education. It was also here he became real close to his Grandma whom he adored until her death. I started working for Close Implement in 1992 and have been there ever since. Although Glenn sold the buisness to Tri County Implement, I have stayed. It is a great place to work, and I still haul those big green machines around the country. I have had the opportunity to own and purchase the farm that I grew up on, and it has been great living back here where my heart has always been. It is hard to believe that little 4 year old boy I moved up here with is a sophmore in high school in Grinnell too. My wife Anita has also found her a great job as the secretary for the Methodist Church in Oakley. I think moving back home is one of my greatest moves. Grinnell may be a small town, but it has a great big heart and soul that the big cities cannot touch.

I remeber when I could zoom out to Stucky's with no problem, except for stopping to say hi to a friend or something. I definitely miss the more simple things in life.
I have been working my way up the chain in the sport world. I worked for the Miami Dolphins for a year and currently work for the Orange Bowl Committee, where I am planning for the National Championship Game this year. I also work for Zach Thomas of the Miami Dolphins who I became good friends with and now help on a regualr basis.
I received my degree in Automotive Technology at the Goodland
Vo-Tech. I am now employed at Shaw Motors (email@example.com).
I attended Colby Community College and am now attending Fort Hays State University.
I am currently attending Garden City Community College and I play volleyball there. We ended our season at 31-23, which isn't bad compared to the year before (16-24). A new coach can make a lot of difference. I'll be graduating from GCCC in May, and I've decided not to go on and play v-ball anymore, so I'll be attending K-State in August.
I recently graduated from K-state with a bachelors in Airway Science. I am currently attending FHSU in pursuit of my MBA.
Where does time go? It has been 9 years since graduation. Wow, hard to
believe!! I have been managing a Dollar General Store since 2001, and I am still at
it. I am also married and have two beautiful children! What a wonderful
experience, full of suprises ever day!
I am currently attending Fort Hays State University and majoring in nursing. I am also on the track team here and everything is going well!!! I love it!
I graduated from FHSU in May 2004 with an associates in Radiologic Technology and a bachelor's in Medical Diagnostic Imaging. I am currently working as an R.T. and will continue my education in February at the School of Diagnostic Sonography within St. Lukes hospital.
I have been working for the Fellowship of Catholic University Students
as a missionary on college campuses teaching and helping students learn more about
their faith and how to live it out. This fall I will be entering the seminary to
become a priest for the diocese of Salina KS.
I graduated from Northwest Kansas School in April of 2002. Shortly after, I started work as a Broadband Technician for Sunflower Broadband in Lawrence, Kansas.
After high school I attended Bethany College, where I played 4 years of basketball and met my wife, Meghan. Next, I completed 4 years of medical school at Kansas City University of Medicine & Biosciences. Afterwards, I entered a Family Medicine Residency at Via Christi Medical Center in Wichita, KS.
We are still in Wichita with our 2 children, where I currently am Chief Resident at Via Christi.
Going to College, and running KVCO 88.3 out of Concordia
