With love and kindly cheer--
How can you draw your corners down
In forms of ridicule and sneer?
You are the windows of the soul,
Oh eyes of blue and eyes of brown--
How can you give the icy stare
Of leer in scorn and frown?
Oh voice, with melody so sweet
With merry laugh or cheery song,
How can you utter cruel words
To those who never did you wrong?
