Retribution

God created man in his own image,
Endowed him with God-like powers
But made him human.
But none, made He, of such high estate
As should not to another speak,
Tho he be full of fault.
God would not thus
Disdain his handiwork
In heaven the last shall be first.
Lazarus on earth, a beggar was,
Scorned by the lordly prince,
The prince in hell
Begged Lazarus in heaven
For a drop of water to quench his thirst
