Put All Your Little
troubles In The Scrapbox
In this time of war and conflict, let's
forget the little pain,
Just refuse to let the little hurts
enter heart or brain.
When they knock upon our heart-
strings,
Let's slam the door and say,
"We're in a world's great conflict so
you hurts must stay away."
For what are little cares and strife
compared to this great war?
And to aid in this great conflict
Is now what we're living for.
And the little trials of today are
nothing to compare
To the soldiers fighting far away,
That they may not despair.
So little troubles don't you try to
enter in my heart,
For I'm in the world's great conflict
And I bid you now depart.
So little troubles you just hike,
I'm not at home today to anything
so trivial,
So please to stay away.
I'm fighting with the soldier boy, I
have enough to do
To plan some way to give him joy
and make him brave and true.
So I'll fling my troubles all aside as
I sit down to knit,
If any try to corner me I'll say to
them, "You git,
I'm in the world's great conflict,
So I bid you all good night,
I'll put you in the scrap box
And I'll slam the lid down tight."
