To My ChildrenAnd all things sad betide you, I would return to you again And just sit down beside you. So take this little book of mine And feel that I am near you. O, do not let your heart repine, I'd comfort you and cheer you. For in this book I'd still be near, To comfort you and love you; Your mother lives again, my dear, And skies are bright above you. So look upon my face and know I still would give you pleasure; Your cup of joy I would o'erflow With joy and peace and leisure. Then smile though clouds are dark, The sun shines still above; Don't drift, but anchor your bark In God's great boundless love. __Nettie Squire Sutton. |
