Life's Pilgrimage. Each quiv'ring sigh, each bitter tear, Each crushing care, each racking pain, Each cherished hope that was in vain; Sad hearts will then their throbbing cease And evermore all will be peace. 'Twill soon be o'er, our fleeting day, And we shall put life's cares away, And pleasures missed on earth will come To us in that bright heavenly home; Speed on! Speed on! Our journey's end__ The golden shore where friend meets friend. Though dark the night and wild the blast, 'Tis not for long these sorrows last, The darkest hour will soon be gone, The morning, fair and bright, shall dawn And in the roseate radiant beam We'll see the spires of heaven gleam. __Mrs. Ella Goodwin, Ludell. |
