Music At Twilight

The spires and domes loomed black against the pale
                gold sky,
Wherein the little moon smiled an adieu to day.
A trill- a faint, sweet thrill of song,
Some minor chords, a plaintive air,
And then the music died away,
The western glow went out and night was there.
