Bees In The Linden

Bees in the linden tree
Murmuring, murmuring
Drowsy hummed tunes
That the breezes scarce know.
Bees in the linden tree,
Supping right royally,
Ere, honey-laden--hiveward they go.

Blue summer skies above,
White clouds a-billowing,
Heart upon heart I see,
Under the linden tree,
Lovers a-lingering,
Enact a comedy bees never know.
Under the linden tree,
Kissing right royally,
Ere, all love-laden--homeward they go.
