YOUTH will quickly pass away; 
Flowers bloom:but for a day; 
Brightest hopes will soon decay; 
Life and earth death soon will sever, 
But God's love, it faileth never. 
 
Brightest hours too soon are gone; 
Scarce they've come ere they are flown; 
One thing standeth^__one alone.
Though earth's best should pass forever, 
God's rich love, it faileth never. 
 
Thou who art forlorn, distressed, 
Take this lesson to thy breast; 
Hold it close; 't will give thee rest: 
Naught of earth can from thee sever
