And Night CameStreamed pools of color Along the sand; Young slender trees fringing the water!s edge Were pipes of singing winds. Wings fluttered to high nests Stars came out. Tall waving grasses, Green in the late sunlight, Lost color and became form, And songs of unseen things Were heard in blue dusk. Then came a Presence all about me-- The Silence became God; A night was born. |
