Two Smiles___Two Blooms

A rosebush in my garden smiled;
      I plucked the smile to place it
Upon the bosom of my Love,
      To ornament and grace it.

Her lips, like petals parting, bloomed;
      The bloom___she could not miss it___
I plucked, as to her mouth I bent
      My whiskered own, to kiss it.
