The Dreamer That WinsThe dreamer if he carries on Will formulate the plan The dreamer, with the urge to win, Obscure, at first this man Who carried with him day by day Some problem that revolved In his calm, but persistent mind Until, at last, he solved! Some try Just once then give it up Yet say "It might be done", Then lay off till a later time To find the goal is won By him who kept on day by day Who burned the midnight oil Determined and persistent still; That loitering, would foil. This winner builds the mansions new And critics give acclaim Perfection's touch to each design No less, the builders aim. And though the restless earth may rise Or sink with dangers fraught Some one through ages will retrieve The name of him who wrought! __Ed Blair |
