Looking forward,
through the past…
The Ks Folklore Society’s "aim
and purpose" has always been to promote collection, documentation,
study, and celebration of folklore. We'd like your help
in researching the details of the past members and activities
of the KsFS.
Search ANY material about the KsFS early
years. Scour personal files, libraries and archives statewide.
Look for copies of newsletters, meeting agendas, photos, newspaper
articles, or copies of any presentations made during past annual
KsFS meetings.
This project began nearly a year ago and is
progressing well. We are developing an annotated bibliography
of the "Kansas Folklore Society--The First Fifty
Years."
After the searching stage of research
is complete, KFS will determine how best to present or distribute
the results.
Please contact
us if you have any Kansas Folklore Society material from years
1969, 1971, 1976, 1977, 1978, 1979, 1980, 1981, 1984, 1985, or
copies of papers presented at any KsFS meeting.

Digitizing newsletter information (published
since 1957) and minutes of past meetings is progressing smoothly.
Soon we expect to be able to present that information on this
web site. Watch for additions here.
