April Meeting: Saturday, April 23,2005
Amy Becker, president, reports:
District Seven held its spring meeting in April. Dolores Hope, columnist from the
Garden City Telegram, spoke about writing and language. Elections were also held.
Amy Becker was elected as president,
Robbie Cline was elected as Vice-President. All other officers retained their positions.

Hope is a graduate of the University of Kansas with a BA in journalism and English. She worked for
The Lawrence Journal World and was stringer for the
Kansas City Star while at KU. She came to
The Garden City Telegram as city editor in the fall of 1946 and worked for the Associated Press in Topeka during the 1949 legislative session. She began writing a column for the
Telegram in December 1954 and has worked on staff part and full-time as needed. She continues to write for fun and money.
