Dr. Donald Blakeslee, WSU professor, specializes in archaeology of the Great Plains. He was awarded the 2011 KAC Ferguson History Book Award for Holy Ground, Healing Water: Cultural Landscapes at Waconda Lake, Kansas. His presentation is scheduled at 2:00 with a short business meeting to follow.

“Celebrate National Poetry Month”
Caryn Mirriam-Goldberg, the state poet laureate from Kansas, is District 5's featured presenter, April 14 at 2:00 p.m. at Rockwell Library in Wichita. We are delighted that she will be joining us to "royally" celebrate National Poetry Month. There's a reserved seat with your name on it for this special program! D5's gathering is open to the public. Coffee and conversation will follow. Please don't hesitate to join us!

Ed Thompson is a Wichita native with a B.A. Journalism, M.Ed English Education. Ed had a 35-year teaching career, served as English Language Arts Dept. Chair for 15 years, and participated in NEA Project to Improve the Teaching of English
