“Celebrate Poetry Month”
Help District 5 celebrate Poetry Month in April when Roy Beckemeyer and April Pameticky will be talking about Poetry. Both Roy and April will speak about their respective journeys as poets and read some of their poetry.

District meetings are open to KAC members and the public without charge.

The Kansas Authors Club, established in 1904, welcomes creative, technical, academic and journalistic writers. Members share experiences and their work to help improve their writing.
Meetings are held:
2nd Saturday of each month except July, August & October

"Women In Writing" meets at varying locations in Wichita each fourth Monday of the month at 2:00 PM. This group meets to listen to, critique, encourage, and inspire women writers. For more information call Nancy Glenn, District 5, Wichita, 316-687-6212.

“Plotting Your Novel”
In March Pat Davids, a USA Today bestselling author, spoke about Plotting Your Novel No Matter What Genre You Write In. Pat is from Kansas and graduated from St. Joseph School of Nursing. His Bundle of Love, her first book, was published in 2004. In May, 2013, she received an award from Romantic Times for the best love-inspired novel for 2012.

Katie Funk Wiebe“Everyone Has a Story to Tell”
Katie Funk Wiebe was our speaker. Katie is professor emeritus of Tabor College. She recently held a workshop at KAC's annual convention in Wichita and was kind to share her insights again with us in District 5. This meeting was held at Larksfield Place, 7373 E. 29th St. N., Wichita, at 2:00PM.

“Everything I Have Learned”
Members were encouraged to come prepared to discuss everything they have learned in their writing careers, whether it be short stories, poetry, memoirs, novels, or newspaper articles. The group also discussed what they wanted to learn more about in 2014.
