District 4 met Sunday July 10 at the Manhattan Public Library at 2:00 p.m. In honor of the recent Mothers Day and Fathers Day Events, the topic for this meeting was prose and poetry about our parents. We talked about how our parents inspired and molded our lives. We visited some about the growing list of speakers and presenters we will try to recruit for the 2012 convention. It was very hot outside and the number of people attending was down because of the weather, and summer vacations by members had an impact as well.
Nancy Kopp made reservations with the Library to use Groesbeck Meeting Room for Sundays Sept 11, Nov 13, and Jan 8 from 2-4 P.M.

Eighteen members of District 4 met at the Manhattan Public Library Groesbeck room to brainstorm what presenters we would like to offer at the 2012 KAC convention in Salina. We will try to narrow down the catagories and cross link them with available speakers.
Nancy Kopp, District 4, Manhattan, gave us her advice on how to get writing published. Her message was "Send it In." She advised that publishers won't knock on your window and ask for your work. They might send it back, but they might accept it and send you a check. Good Advice. Thanks to Nancy for her insight.

District 4 met on January 9, 2011 in the Groesbeck Meeting Room on the second floor of the Manhattan Public Library. The purpose of the meeting was to decide on the theme of the 2012 KAC convention scheduled for October 5-7, 2012, at the Ramada Convention Center, 1616 West Crawford Street, in Salina, Kansas.
The members of District 4 decided on "Encouraging Words" a positive version of the line from Home on the Range, "where seldom is heard a discouraging word". The next meeting will be March 13 from 2-4 p.m. again in the Groesbeck room. We will explore the possibilities for a speaker and presenters for your 2012 convention.
