A Little Note about the 2005 Convention at Coffeyville:
Congratulations to Frankie Roland and her crew in District 3 for giving the Kansas Authors Club members the best of conventions. They used every space effectively and provided a great time for all with some great workshops, entertainment, and great speakers, including Bill Kurtis, who spoke about his new book The Death Penalty on Trial. To say the least—next year when District 4 hosts the convention, we have big shoes to fill!

Previous 2005 Meetings

Ocotober Meeting:
The District 4 meeting on October 22 was most delightful with Mrs. Bertha Coffin as our speaker and handouts of the writing of her husband, J. Donald Coffin. Thanks to Wade Knight for helping her carry in the books for our club. He kept the rest to give to members later.
Anne Shiever led us in song with her words, “Kansas Authors Club” to the tune of “Home on the Range.” She was honored at the 2005 Convention when District 3 had her lead the song at the banquet.
Congratulations to the winners of the annual Kansas Authors Club 2005 Literary Contest! Those present at the October meeting, Larry Harshbarger and Alice Flower, read their pieces.
