Marshall County in Kansas
Historic Courthouse, Marysville, Kansas.

The Marshall County Historical Society owns the Historic Courthouse which houses a museum and genealogical research library.

This handsome Romanesque building was Marshall County's courthouse for nearly 90 years. It was constructed in 1891-92 after an earlier courthouse burned in a fire of suspicious origin. It is designed to be nearly fireproof, with tiled floors, enameled brick wainscoting and iron stairways.

In the 1970s it survived a move to tear it down and put  a parking lot in its place. It was then given to the Marshall County Historical Society and a new courthouse was constructed next door.
