The genealogical library has census, marriage, and naturalization records, county newspapers, histories of county towns and churches, and an index of burials. There is a minimum $7.50 charge for genealogical research.

The library has a collection of nearly 3,000 photographs relating to Marshall County.  Prints are available to researchers at a small charge. The library continues to expand the photo collection through donations and temporary loans of photos which are scanned to create a digital version.
