The Membership/Volunteer Committee has been busy working on the 2009 Membership Drive under the direction of Chair, Joyce Demo. Committee members include: Pat Bailey, Betty Carlson, Howard & Ila Clements, Sherry Clymer, Mary K. Connell, Alice Fountain, Helen Joyce, Tamsel Kuhns and Marie Waltman.

If you do not receive your membership information within a few days, please call the museum or print, fill out and return the Membership Form here. In these challenging economic times, your support is more important than ever! We do not receive any city or county funds to help us keep our doors open. We are the "Best Value" in town and want to be able to sustain the museum collection as well as provide exceptional exhibits and programs that are free to the public. In order to do this, we need your support!

As a member, you will receive these special benefits:

• Gift Print Program - The Coutts Membership Committee will continue the museum's Gift Print Program. 2009 museum members will receive an original art print by Lawrence artist, Judi Geer Kellas. You will receive one per family just for joining at the $50 or greater level. Because there is a limited number of 125 prints, you will want to get your membership in early. The first memberships will receive the prints!

• Membership Reception - All members are invited to a special Membership Reception on February 19, 2009.

Exciting News!!! Reknowned El Dorado artists, Jim Clements and Bill Walton, have graciously agreed to each donate a work of art! The works will be on display at the museum after the first of the year. Raffle tickets for their works will be sold in advance and at the reception. Two drawings will take place at the end of the evening. We hope you will come to the reception, however, you need not be present to win. You could be a winner!

• Membership Bus Trip - All members are invited to come along on a one day trip to outstanding art-related venues in Topeka, Kansas, on Saturday, June 6, 2009. Be sure to mark your calendar. The chartered bus trip will be at a reduced rate for members. Last year's trip to Lawrence was a great success and a fun-filled day. You can always count on an entertaining trip!

Along with supporting one of our most valuable community assets, your membership affords you some additional benefits!

• Quarterly newsletter about museum events.
• Personal invitations to special opening receptions and museum activities, allowing you to personally interact with the artists.
• Recognition on a predominate lobby sign.
• New this year! Look for "A Night with an Artist" members only event held several times throughout the year, providing special art education opportunities particularly for members and their families.
