On Wednesday, October 13,
2004 the staff and board of trustees were pleased to honor
Betty Boylan and the City of Emporia. Mrs. Boylan made a generous
donation to the library enabling the study rooms to be built.
The screened in porch
on the second floor was remodeled and houses the three study
rooms. Since the porch had been closed for public use for
years, we are pleased with the remoldeling and the rooms have
already had frequent use. There is a marker board in one room
and wireless Internet access available in all the rooms to
provide our patrons with a quiet place to study or meet. These
rooms can be booked at the second floor reference desk or
by calling (620) 340-6450.
