What
We Do:
Adult
Services offers circulating materials such as magazines, videos,
books on tape, CD's, and free Internet access. A computer for
word processing is also available. Tours of Adult Services are
available upon request and staff are happy to speak to organizations
and groups. Call the library at 340-6462 to arrange a visit or
tour.
The
library regularly offers specialty programs for adults. Book discussion
groups have focused on mysteries, travelogues, biographies, and
popular fiction. Other programming includes visits from experts
and scholars on Kansas history, quilting and other folk arts,
and notable Kansas residents such as William Allen White and Will
Rogers.

Homebound,
Interlibrary
Loan and the Kansas
Room / Genealogical Department are three of the most
used services at EPL. (Click on the blue highlighted names to
visit their pages.) Homebound will deliver any library materials
every other Thursday to Emporia residents who cannot come to the
library. Any materials not available at EPL can be interlibrary
loaned from other libraries in and out of state and checked out
for a period of two weeks.
The Kansas Room offers many items of interest to historians and
genealogists. Every year the library, in cooperation with the
Flint Hills Genealogy Society, sponsors a beginning Genealogy
Workshop and a Genealogy Lock-In. Call or visit the library for
more information, or visit our Family
History page.
