CIRCULATION POLICY CHANGES AS OF
MONDAY, APRIL 16, 2007

The Emporia Public Library Board approved the following policy changes at their April 9, 2007 board meeting:

• $5.00 FINE LIMIT PER ACCOUNT BEFORE ACCOUNT IS BLOCKED
  Effective Monday, April 16, 2007, all library patron accounts will be blocked and patrons will not be allowed to check out materials when fines have accumulated to $5.00 or more per account. Previously, the policy stated accounts were blocked at $25.00 or more.
• NEW PATRON CHECKOUT LIMIT
  A patron applying for a new library card may check out a total of five (5) items per checkout for three (3) months. This means a new patron may only have five (5) items on his/her card at one time for the first three (3) months he/she has a library card.
• New patrons will be asked to confirm their address and phone number on their account periodically for the first year they have a card.
• LIMITED CHECKOUTS ON SPECIAL COLLECTIONS
  Due to high circulation and small collection sizes, patrons are limited to five (5) items per checkout of:
  DVDs
  VHS - Videos
  Graphic Novels
  Cds-Music and Audiobooks
  **Cd-Roms are limited to two per card at one time.
