304 N. 4th Street Wathena, Kansas
Join Rachel Waltner Goossen, an associate professor of History at
Washburn University as she presents a program on how World War II
altered many lives, sending a generation of men and women across the
state and overseas. The stories of nurses, pilots, chaplains, welders,

communities, factories, hospitals, and military service. This
presentation focuses on oral histories of 1940s-era Kansans, as well as
the journeys of present-day students who collected these stories. This
program sponsored by The Kansas Humanities Council, Library District # 1

served.
