Lawmaker Objectives
Kansas Lawmaker CD ROM is
designed for the middle school and junior high school student in grades
6 through 9.
- It is
designed for both classroom and individualized use.
- Multimedia is used to
present the content in a way likely to engage the middle school/junior
high student.
- Kansas Lawmaker uses
graphics, text, sounds and video to appeal to the target group and to
optimize learning.
The learning objective is to provide a
technology-based interactive instructional resource for learning the
Kansas legislative process.
The
Learner will...
- Gain
familiarity with legislative and governmental terminology.
- Examine real issues of
Kansas state government.
- Gain experience in
participating in the political process.
- Follow the steps of how a
bill becomes a law.
- Participate in the
amendment procedure.
- Follow the basic committee
function in the legislative process.
- Compare and contrast the
terms and responsibilities of Senators and Representatives.
- Be exposed to the
constituent's role in the legislative process.
- Differentiate the
legislative function from the executive and judicial functions.
