Hodgden House Museum Complex   (785) 472-3059
104 S W Main Street / P. O. Box 144, Ellsworth, Kansas 67439
Established in 1867, Ellsworth became a thriving cowtown in the early Hodgden House 1870's, eclipsing Abilene as the leading cattle shipping point in Kansas.  Today the "plaza," the two-block site of Ellsworth's original commercial district, still remains relatively uncluttered by modern intrusions.  Located on the plaza is an 1878 Victorian home, the Hodgden House, the center for the Museum Complex.  Also located on the complex are:
  • 1880's Livery Stable
  • 1912 One Room School
  • 1880's Church
  • Small Log Cabin
  • General Store
  • Antique Farm Equipment
  • 1911 Caboose
  • 1900 Train Depot
  • Turn of the Century Wooden Windmill
