Poetry of Kansas

Metallic Seasons

Spring days gleam silver,
        Under tinkling showers;
Summer days are warm gold, -
        Flaunting gay flowers:
Autumn days hang leaden, -
        Dull with blight:
Winter days - ah - platinum,-
        Cruel, cold white.
