Poetry of Kansas

Change.

'Twill pass, 'twill pass,
   Naught stays, that I can find;
'Twill fade, 'twill fade,
   And leave no trace behind.

The sea, the sky,
   Once thrilled me to the core.
The sea, the sky,
   Are water, space__no more.

I love, I love:
   'Twill pass; tho' she be dear,
'Twill fade, 'twill fade,
   I shall not love next year.
