Three Women

Three women look upon a photograph
Of one who died not very long ago.
The silk-slim woman gives a little laugh
And holds it nearer the electric glow;
The plump one whines, "He always roughed me so!"
But at the comment and the laugh, the third
Stares silent at the wall, with eyes grown strangely blurred.
