Poetry of Kansas

Daily Blessings

The summer showers kissing
Stone and clod
Are but the constant thought
And gift of God.

The golden grain which bows
As if in prayer
Is just another sign
He is everywhere.

The smiling light a rainbow
Gives through tears
Is but His promise kept
Through years and years.

The turquoise sky with all
Its gifts of gold
Is but a taste of what
Is yet untold.

At every crook and turn
In life's short road
There lie the daily blessings
By Him bestowed.
