GRANTHAM WRIGHT (JIMMIE GRANTHAM WRIGHT) Rosedale - born 1932 . From: - Linda White (Mar 18, 2000)
HI, My father was adopted by John & Hilda (Evers) Kraus. He was born Nov. 29, 1932 in Rosedale, KS. I remember seeing paperwork from the adoption as Jimmie Grantham Wright. I'm not sure about the spelling on Grantham. I'm not sure if Grantham is a middle name or a combination of 2 last names. I also am not sure how Jimmie was spelled. This is the story I have heard through my family. My father's mother was married and separated from her husband. She became pregnant by another man and later wanted to return to her husaband but was told to "he did not want the other man's baby". A visiting nurse cam by 1 day to check on the mother and I guess could tell she had just given birth, and found my father outside in a coal bin (left to die, I guess). My father was taken to a Catholic Hospital (don't know the name) and nursed by the nuns there, and later adopted by my grandmother. My father never wanted to find his family. He died in 1969 (very young) and my grandparents as well as I imagine his natural parents are also dead by now. I would still like to find their names. I heard rumors that my dad had other siblings. I guess it's just one of those things, you always just want to know who you are? I have my mother's side of the family traced back but now I want to find out more about my dad. Is it true that Kansas adoption records are open? Does anyone have any info that will help me?

I am looking for evidence of residence for John Nicholas (dob 17Jul 1853) and Martha Z Hopkins Jarvis (dob 08Jan 1861) who moved from Clinton Co, Kentucky after probably 1875-80 (they are both listed as age 9 and 17 in that county's 1870 census). One of their offspring, (Sarah?) Althea Winifred Jarvis(my grandmother) was born in Rosedale,KS 11May1891. There were several other children, including John N, Bert Leo, Martha Kate, Tennessee Olive, and Edna Arlie, all born in Rosedale. Martha Zamora's mother Martha Z Bryson Hopkins, is said to have died in Olathe, KS 1898. Any help with documentation for this family in Kansas is much appreciated.

HIMMER (William and Helen Concklin) Census taken on April 20, 1910; supervisors district#2, enumeration district#193, ward of city 7, sheet number 8,line #63 http://hometown.aol.com/joyous30/index.html. From: - La Shel Himmer (Apr 30, 2000)
I am looking for any record pertaining to William Himmer and his wife Helen Concklin. They were on the 1910 census. William worked at a railway shop as a machinist. He was 32 years old on this census. It says he was born in Illinois. I would like to find more information on this person. Anything that will help me research back to his parents and his own birth. Are there any employment records anywhere, that anyone would know how to locate and research? I am also aware of other Himmers in Kansas City. I would greatly appreciate any information on this family and others that anyone would be able to provide to me.
