CANVILLE TRADING POST

Granite marker by the Shaw Christian Church at Shaw, Nesoho County.


AT CANVILLE TRADING POST
WHICH WAS BUILT IN 1844
NEAR THIS PLACE THE
OSAGE INDIANS MADE
WITHDRAWAL TREATY IN 1865

This marker is in the shady yard of a simple white frame church near the Neosho River.
The serenity is almost worth the trip.
