Treasuring the past
Providing for the future

"I have found that the most valuable thing in my wallet is my library card."
- Laura Bush

Message from the President:

For over 100 years, the Kansas Library Association has promoted library services, education and cooperation among all types of libraries. KLA is now positioned to make great strides in the 21st century. In 2002, with the support of our dedicated members, KLA completed the move and expansion of our headquarters to Topeka and the employment of our first full-time executive director.

The Kansas Library Association’s comprehensive vision for the future includes new educational opportunities, library promotion and public relations initiatives, recognition awards, and ensuring the viability of our association’s operations. During the next several months, we want to test the feasibility of a fundraising initiative that will transform our vision into reality. On behalf of the Kansas Library Association Council members, I invite you to join us in this historic undertaking. With your counsel and informed feedback, we can secure the brightest future for Kansas libraries and the people they serve. Together, we will indeed be “Treasuring the Past, Providing for the Future.”

Sincerely,
Patti J. Butcher
President
